Hotel Reviews: Each year, we visit the lovely Viceroy Hotel and Resort, Palm Springs, California for a relaxing weekend in one of their villas (which are the resort's free standing private cottages). Located on 415 South Belardo Drive, just one block off the main drag in Palm Springs, the Viceroy is a wonderful pet friendly resort.
For this visit, we stayed in Sovereign Villa #506 which was a charming 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit located in a quiet location on the Fountain Court side of the resort. The unit also featured a kitchen, dining room and living room with a gas fireplace. Sovereign Villa #506 is the only 2 bedroom villa on the property with an enclosed grass backyard (versus a patio) which made it great for dogs. It's the best 2 bedroom for staying with a dog. If you're looking for a 1 bedroom villas, check out unit #504 which is next door and also has a fully enclosed grassy yard. The hotel charges a one time $100 pet fee for the duration of your stay and allows pets under 40 lbs.
The Viceroy has 3 pools on site. During this visit, we noticed a new sign at the Presidio Pool: No Pets Allowed at Presidio Pool. This was an unexpected change, but overall the resort still remained highly pet friendly and I give it a paws up!
